Anything "collectible" I own, I own to use. I played with my black rimmed 1st edition Magic cards, I read my comic books and don't bother bagging them, heck, I played with all my Star Wars action figures as a kid.

But then again, maybe it comes down to that most prominent of collectibles...money. So they work hard to collect more, far above and beyond their ability to use it for anything besides the accumulation of even more money.

By extension, I guess, the collector feels that the value in a comic book isn't in the reading of it, or wine the drinking, or baseball cards the....well, I guess there really isn't anything to do with a baseball card besides collect it, is there?

Nevertheless, I guess I just don't see the point of the whole exercise. If it makes you happy, by all means, go for it, but I'll be off to the side drinking my wine, reading my comic books, and not buying baseball cards at all.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12555754666136648223noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15742539.post-32599743867895613912009-11-29T13:58:12.802-08:002009-11-29T13:58:12.802-08:00Ah, Fanboy, by Sergio Aragones and Mark Evanier. It looks like a stupid plan typed out like that.Kyle Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11585645795214120227noreply@blogger.com
