So even those Joel jokes were largely contributed to by Mike. You can't separate the two.Jessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16969054398800479582noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15742539.post-31674227261910882602014-07-02T18:27:50.924-07:002014-07-02T18:27:50.924-07:00Unfortunately, there was one aspect of Joel they n...Unfortunately, there was one aspect of Joel they never successfully replaced.

Joel was funny.

Mike wasn't funny, tried too hard to come across as funny anyway, always seemed to be trying not to laugh at his own alleged comedy, and had no acting talent whatsoever so that his characterization moments fell flatter than an elementary school's efforts at Hamlet.

Failure isn't funny when the comedian on the screen is failing at being funny, John.

Within a single season of Mike's tenure on MST3K, not a single person I knew personally or online was still watching the series. Overall, definitely worthy of the money. They also released a RiffTrax shorts DVD that's hilarious also. And when I found out that Netflix has old Mystery Science Theater films on there, I added all of them to my queue.Jessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14084810195956794073noreply@blogger.com
