I wanted to let everyone know that in addition to this blog and my posts at MightyGodKing, I will also be posting irregularly to a blog I'm co-writing with my wonderful wife. This will be a sequential tour of my personal favorite era of Doctor Who, the novels published during the so-called "Wilderness Years" between the end of the old series and the beginning of the new. (One of the surprises that may come up is that the end of the old series and the beginning of the new doesn't come quite when you'd think it would...)
The blog is available here, and I invite you all to wander by when you have a moment. It'll encourage us to keep going with what is, ultimately, a Herculean labor...albeit a labor of love. Whether you loved the New Adventures, or whether you just kind of heard that there was a series of books out there and want to know more, stop on by!

I'd love to dive into this, but I'm still trying to become a fan of Doctor Who (lack of time), and so appreciating these efforts would be a long way off.
Between this and Siskoid's review of every episode ever (he's up to the first of the Peladon episodes in the Pertwee era) my Doctor Who review needs are now amply met. Bravo!
Subscribed, but I foresee wave after wave of wanting to reread the NAs as you cover them. It already hit with Transit; I still regret selling that one off, plus The Also People.
Man, between you guys and The Mindless Ones I desperately want to get ahold of these, but alas they were never released in the states, and at around 11 bucks per on Amazon at best it seems they're a bit steep. Any chance of detouring into Faction Paradox once you get to Lawrence Miles's stuff? Hopefully I'll be getting into that soon myself (you should check out his blog by the way, he's got a great series going there).
The NAs were absolutely published in the US. I bought a larger number of them straight off the shelf at chains like Barnes & Noble and Waldenbooks.
Oh, they were? I just kind of assumed they hadn't as I've never seen them in any of the chains or even smaller bookstores I've been in (but then I'd never really looked that closely); all I've found so far is New Who novels and some reprints of the Target novelizations. I'll keep an eye out for them next time I'm in Barnes and Noble then.
They're also unfortunately wicked out of print. $11 on eBay is probably a fair rate for a New Adventure -- at least one of the good ones.
